OSHA Training, NCCER training certification along with instructor certification in numerous disciplines (Safety, Boiler making, Rigging, Scaffolding, Project Management, Project Supervision, Crew Leader, and others.)

 

Why a career in Safety?

To be able to help influence a safety culture and safety way of life for employees.  

 

Biggest Accomplishment:

I have been able to, with the help of employees, reduce the number injuries at every company I have worked with in my safety career.

 

Biggest disappointment:

Working with a company that did not put safety first.

 

Other Careers aside from safety:

Project Supervision, Project Controls, Electrician

 

Mentors:

Yes, My first Safety Director influenced me by teaching me that getting to know the workers and their work, while gaining their respect will go along way in maintaining and improving the safety program. 

 

Advice:

Work in the field prior to becoming a safety rep in order to fully appreciate the work that the field workers do and how it is done.
